Q & A for English Session
16 July 2016 ver.
Q & A
Q1: I am planning to give an oral or poster
presentation. Although I am not a member of the Japanese Society of Limnology (JSL),
my supervisor (co-author) is a JSL member. Do I still need to become a JSL
member?
A1: As stated in the
Form B, the presenter must become a member of the Japanese Society of Limnology
and the membership fee paid by 21 October 2016 (two weeks before the congress).
Note that if the office has not received the membership due by 21 October, your
presentation will be cancelled. Please refer to the following link for
membership application.

Q2: Can I pay the registration (and banquet/excursion)
fee upon my arrival in Okinawa?
A2: Yes. On-site
registration fee can be paid upon your arrival. Please pay the registration fee
at the congress venue by cash in Japanese yen. If you have registered at the
congress (or sent application forms A/B) by 20 July, an Early-bird registration fee will be applicable (fee: 11-20 July). If you have
registered at the congress (or sent application forms A/B) later than 20 July, a Regular registration fee (fee: after 20 July) will be applicable.
Q3: Why is there a
'non-member rate' offered for the Congress as you have already stipulated that
only registered members can participate in the session?
A3: The non-member
rate for the JSL congress is only applicable if a person wishes to attend the
congress without delivering an oral or poster paper as a presenter. Perhaps
this is possible, if the supervisor (say, non-member) of a student (say,
member) wishes to attend the congress or a local researcher/teacher/citizen
wishes to attend the congress for one time only.
